Crate Training
We introduce crate training early to support calm transitions, better sleep, and a sense of security as puppies grow.
Our Approach
During their time with us, puppies are thoughtfully introduced to the crate in a calm, supportive way. This early exposure helps the crate feel familiar rather than new, giving families a smoother starting point when continuing crate training at home
Why We Use a Crate
The crate supports healthy development and smoother transitions into home life.
It supports early housetraining
It teaches puppies how to rest and settle which is an important life skill
it provided predictable structure which helps puppies feel secure.
It allows for safe management when puppies cannot be actively supervised
We view the crate as a bedroom. A calm predictable place where puppies can rest and reset.
Continuing Crate Training at Home
Every puppy and household is different. Some puppies settle easy, while others need more time and reassurance.
We encourage families to:
Keep crate routines calm and consistent
use the crate for rest, not punishment
place the crate near you at first and gradually increase distance
Reach out with questions if challenges arise.
Crate training is a process, and progress is not always linear. Patience and consistency matter more than perfection.
