Why choose an already started puppy?

Bringing home an older puppy that has been started on training, means you get to skip the hardest early stages of puppyhood while still enjoying the bonding experience of raising a young dog.

✔️ Are used to grooming routines, including nail trims and brushing.

Looking for help with training? Or a younger puppy with a start on training? We also offer a board & Train program, typically lasting about 3-4 weeks.

We offer a limited number of puppies per year that are past the early training stage with a great foundation. These sweet adolescent pups have a great head start on training and manners! They are fully crate-trained, sleeping through the night, and ready for their forever families. They know basic commands (heel, leave it, sit, down, stay, and come), are mostly potty-trained, improving on leash walking, and past the tough puppy stages like teething, jumping, and nipping. While they’ll need continued reinforcement at home, this is the perfect time to bring them home and build on their training with a manners class! They are usually around 4- 6 months when going home.

Training & Socialization

Each puppy receives individualized attention and is introduced to:

House Training – Puppies are consistently taken outside to potty, making housebreaking much easier for you.

Crate Training – Puppies sleep through the night in a crate and are comfortable resting in one when needed.

Leash Walking – Puppies walk politely on a leash without excessive pulling.

Basic Commands – Sit, stay, down, come, leave it, and more.

Socialization – Puppies have been exposed to various environments, people, children, other dogs, and common household noises.

Car Training – Puppies are comfortable riding in a car for trips and vet visits.

Confidence Building – Puppies have been desensitized to loud sounds, new textures, and different surfaces to reduce fearfulness.

Grooming Exposure – Puppies are accustomed to being brushed, having their nails trimmed, and getting baths.

  • When you choose an OVL started puppy you are getting:

    • A one-on-one training session where you will work with us to learn everything your dog knows, and have the opportunity to ask any training related questions.

  • Training lasts anywhere from 6- 10 weeks and consists of puppy learning:

    • crate training

    • house training

    • leash skills

    • recall (most important command in our opinion)

    • sit

    • down

    • stay

    • place

    • touch a target

    • agility activities

    • proper play

    • community outings - help puppy understand our world and what type of behavior is expected of them.

    • tons of socialization with other dogs

    • handling exercises

  • If we have older trained puppies ready for their forever homes, they will be listed below. You also have the option to select a younger puppy and wait for them to complete training before bringing them ome.

  • The cost depends on the length of training. Our puppy price is $3,200 and a month of training is typically around $1500. This includes puppy shots, regular vet check ups, and regular grooming.
